2025 Team Season Wins - The Full Ladder
The dust has settled on all 18 teams seasons and my projections for the year. Where does your team finish and where are my betting opportunities?
Now that we’ve been through each and every team’s fixture of games I can now divulge the end of season ladder. I also did the ladder predictor alongside my own process so I could input the guessing of the margins for the percentage point of view to separate teams with similar records.
The result of the projected ladder ended up with the return of one of the competition’s most recent Premiership winners and includes one other club who’s demise late last year more than makes up for here in 2025, so in the end it’s two in and 2 out from the 2024 final positions.
One thing to say about this is how even and how tough it is to try and separate loads of these games, it seems unlikely we’ll have, at least for the near future a team that goes and win 18-19 games of football with the competition just so even on any given weekend.
The projections I made also uncovered what I think each team will win games wise but also putting that up against what the bookmakers have listed as their O/U (Over/Under) lines. I have made some recommendations based on my number with quite a few teams so if you agree and like, then you might find some value in taking a few of these bets for a bit of fun.
I will say though, to be open with you all, so you know where I stand or have stood as a punter, that it’s been as a bettor that has traded sports at a semi professional level, which when you read that, you may say we’re all part time bettors when we have fun with our wagering in all the sports we enjoy watching.
But there is a difference between professional and recreational betting which is somewhere in between. I actually took time out of my full time job to bet sports so whilst it wasn’t my full time job, it was actually paying the bills as a second job. Not just some fun money on the side.
The reason I wanted to describe that above was that when I was spending time trading sports, wagering on futures like these were never something I did or recommended because unless your getting $10 for something then tying your money up for 6-8 months when you’re only getting a return of under or around $2 then the value of having that money tied up is taken away, as you could be using that cash to make loads more profitable bets in-season, so recreationally for a bit fun these types of bets are great but not something I looked at doing for that reason.
Through the exercise of going through the fixtures of each team, the value that can bring is that you have now got a forecast of what potential angles you might be able to play down the track, betting the markets like Premiership Winner, Minor Premiership Winner, Top 4, Top 8 instead, you’ll be able to trade them during the season and setup positions so you can reduce liability and have your money invested into markets that have bigger paying dividends.
For example, you might find a team that you’ve projected to begin the season poorly but then during the second half of the season they have a much more favourable fixture ahead of them and you can take them midway to grab a better price than if you bet them at the start of the season. Same for the vice versa, find a team that could be hot to begin then fade at the end. So even though you might not take the O/U lines for individual teams you can see how you might be able to use this exercise in your favour to determine in the run or in season betting opportunities.
So this exercise for will help me determine a couple of things. 1) as I mentioned just earlier about identifying teams that I can bet during the season for higher paying odds and look to trade in and out if need be but 2) going through the fixture and physically writing down ideas will give me ideas for when the round actually comes around. I may in the busy times of the season forget to think of an angle but if I identified it months earlier then I’ve always got something to look back on to see how I thought at that point. So it’s really handicapping the games now but for later and I can make adjustments with form/injury etc.
Now to the final results, here’s the end of season ladder, with projected bets if you like them.
